ReferMeFriend.com
Privacy Policy
This policy explains the limited information handled when you visit ReferMeFriend.com or contact us.
1. Who is responsible
I operate ReferMeFriend.com and am responsible for the personal information under my control. You can reach me regarding privacy matters at info@refermefriend.com.
2. Information handled
The site has no user accounts, checkout, payment processing, or contact form. Our web server automatically records limited technical information, which may include an IP address, request date and time, requested page, response status, referring page, and browser user-agent.
When you follow a referral button, our server records the same type of technical request information in a dedicated click log before redirecting you to the provider. We do not use this log to build individual profiles.
If you email us, we receive your email address and any information you choose to include in your message.
3. Why we use it
Technical logs are used to deliver and secure the site, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, understand aggregate referral activity, and maintain reliable service. Email information is used to answer your request and keep necessary business records.
4. Cookies and analytics
ReferMeFriend.com does not set analytics or advertising cookies.
The site uses Simple Analytics to understand aggregate website use. According to its official documentation, the service does not set cookies, store IP addresses, fingerprint visitors, or create device identifiers. It may process aggregate metrics such as page URL, referrer, UTM campaign values, time zone, browser language, user-agent category, and screen dimensions.
5. Referral providers and external sites
Referral links take you to third-party websites. Those providers receive your request and handle information under their own privacy policies and terms. I do not control their data practices.
6. Retention
Server and referral-click logs are normally retained for up to 14 days through automated log rotation, unless a longer period is reasonably necessary to investigate security, fraud, or service incidents. Emails are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, meet legal obligations, and maintain appropriate business records.
7. Safeguards and service providers
We use administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the limited information handled, including encrypted HTTPS connections, restricted server access, firewall controls, key-only administration, and timely software updates. Hosting and other service providers may process limited information on our behalf and are expected to protect it appropriately.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access or correct personal information held about you, withdraw consent where applicable, or raise a concern about our practices. Contact the Privacy Officer at info@refermefriend.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
You may also contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as applicable.
9. Changes
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the site, our practices, or applicable law. The effective date below identifies the current version.
Effective date: September 30, 2026.
